Buoy line O-Boj
A lead-free buoy line that is gentle on our waters
The ropes are sewn together in
the middle with a patented seam
The O-Boj buoy line is the perfect choice for those who want a lead-free buoy
line. Instead of using lead as the weight of the line, we have combined two
different lines with both floating and sinking characteristics. The yellow part
of the line is specially made of Polystar, which floats in water. The second part
is made of sinking polyester. The breaking strength is 3000 kg, and is
available in 5 m, 10 m and 15 m lengths.
What is special about O-Boj?
Why does this product exist?
Shoemaker’s splice
The idea originated from the need to
eliminate lead from all our ropes and find an
alternative material to replace it. In this case,
there is also a floating buoy that
unfortunately cannot withstand significant
depths and, in many cases, gets compressed
and becomes ineffective. When this
happens, we are back to the problem of
"Dead Spots," or dead circles where
vegetation is cleared around the buoy.
We use two different materials: one that floats
(closest to the stone) and one that sinks (closest
to the buoy). The floating material can withstand
almost all water pressures without losing its
function.
Additionally, we have replaced lead with sinking
polyester, which is significantly more
environmentally friendly and cost-effective than
previous alternatives. We have also minimized
the use of metal, which has the potential to rust.
